NYGB Regional Tournament

Previously named in honor of local hero, Maria Pepe, the NYGB Regional tournament brings together teams from across the East Coast and Canada to celebrate our love for the game of baseball, and to remember the sacrifices that girls and women before us have made to open up the sport of baseball to girls.
Where
When
The NYGB Regional Tournament is generally held on Labor Day Weekend.
Games
There is a 3-game guarantee for all divisions of 3 teams or more.
Divisions
We field the following divisions:
10U - 12U - 14U - 16U - 17+
Birthdate cutoff for each age group is April 30.
Example: If a player is 12 and turns 13 on May 1st, they are still eligible to play for the 12U team, as they were 12 years old as of April 30th. If a player is 12 and turns 13 on April 29th, they will have to play in the 14U division, as they were 13 as of April 30.
Hotels
Lasorda Legacy Park is a stay-to-play venue. We are required to use their third-party company to book hotels. Teams interested in participating will be sent hotel information early in the year.
Note: Long Island during the summer is a popular tourist destination. For that reason we recommend booking hotels early, even if you aren't sure if your team will be attending. Hotel deposits are refundable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't it called the Maria Pepe Tournament anymore?
As part of their 'Girls with Game' Celebration, Little League International is honoring Maria Pepe with an event in her name. Because of this, we are no longer able to use her name for our tournament. Maria will always be our hero, and we are extremely happy that Little League Baseball is finally trying to make amends for what they put Maria through as a young girl, even though it means changing the name of our tourney. For now, we are referring to our tournament as the NY Girls Baseball Regional Tournament, although we may change it in the future.
Can I book my own hotel?
Lasorda Legacy Park is a stay-to-play venue, so we are required to use their hotel booking company, Book Your Block, for teams to book hotels for the tournament. Book Your Block guarantees the best prices on hotel rooms in the area. If you find a lower price for a hotel, please let us know so that we can get Book Your Block to meet or beat that rate.
